A short note on what data Astera receives, why, and how to delete it. We take only what the reading needs, and we sell nothing.

What data we receive

  • Quiz answers (your name, which grammatical gender to write in, what you are interested in and what you wrote in your own words) and your question for a tarot spread.
  • Birth data: the date, the time if you know it, and the city. For compatibility and readings for family and friends, also another person's details: only enter them if they do not mind.
  • The finished reading: the calculated chart and the text.
  • A review, if you leave one. Your name, town or city and photo are kept only if you allow them to be shown with the review.
  • Anonymous visit statistics: which steps were completed, where the visit came from, the device, the browser and the country. They contain no name, no birth data and no quiz answers.
  • Technical data: your device's address (IP) and browser details, without which the site cannot answer a request.

There is no sign-up, so we do not ask for an email address or a password. At checkout you enter your card details on the payment provider's page, and they never reach us.

Why we need it

  • To calculate the chart and write the reading: this is the service itself.
  • To save the reading so that it opens via your personal link, and to write the remaining sections after payment.
  • To show reviews on the site and to use them to make the readings better. A review appears without your name and without details that could identify you, unless you have allowed your name, town or city and photo to be shown with it.
  • To make the site easier to use and to see which ads bring readers.
  • To protect the site from abuse.

Who the data is passed to

We do not sell data. Some of it is processed by contractors the service cannot work without:

  • The language model provider writes the text of the reading.
  • Hosting and content delivery providers store the site and protect it from attacks.
  • The payment provider takes the payment; all we receive from it is the confirmation.
  • The Meta advertising network receives information about visits and purchases through a pixel, to measure ad results. In the EU, the United Kingdom and Switzerland only with your consent; you can refuse with the Privacy choices link at the bottom of the page. Meta does not receive your name, birth data or the text of your reading.

Contractors' servers may be located outside your country.

What is stored in your browser

While the Meta pixel is on, it sets the advertising cookies _fbp and _fbc for 90 days. The site itself sets only technical cookies: NEXT_LOCALE with the chosen language, astera_site for a day when a link opened one of the versions of the site, so that the next pages belong to the same version, and, after a bundle is paid for, astera_bundles, so that the bundle opens in this browser.

In your browser's storage the site keeps your choice about advertising cookies, the day or night look you picked where the site has one, the visit's tags, what you typed into forms and links to your readings, so that you do not have to enter everything again and can get back to your reading quickly. All of this is removed by clearing the site's data in your browser settings.

How long a reading is kept and how to delete it

Readings are kept for as long as you need them. You can delete any of them straight away with the button on its page: the details you entered and its review are erased with it. We may delete readings nobody has come back to for a long time. To take a review off the site without deleting the reading, write to our support address.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct or delete it, restrict its processing or object to it, and complain to the supervisory authority in your country. We process data to provide the service, in our legitimate interest (statistics, protecting the site and showing reviews without a name) and with your consent (the Meta pixel and showing your name and photo with a review), which you can withdraw at any time. To exercise your rights, write to our support address and include your personal link to the reading: there is no sign-up, so we cannot find it otherwise.

Children

The site is not intended for children under 16. If a child has left their data here, write to our support address and we will delete it.

Changes

If anything changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
